This type of blank is typically pretty specialized and not the same as your original key that you currently have. This fob also needs to be compatible with your frequency and format. Then you'll also need a blank key fob with modifiable memory. This info can be found by a Google search. To copy a key fob yourself you will need to get a RFID programmer that is compatible with your frequency and format. There are several options to copy a key fob: Their machines are only set up to do metal keys and some car transponders. Hardware stores wouldn't know where to begin with copying these type of keys. Newer buildings may have more advanced keys that use encryption and have some security but those are typically only used in commercial building. Proximity key fobs that are used in apartment and condos are individually coded during manufacturing with a specific serial number.
